I encourage less scroll time and more play time. Less mindless distraction and more mindful connection. Yesterday I took a whole day off in the sunshine , road tripped a couple of hours, took in the sites, bought vibrant veges from a growers market, ate delicious Mexican plant based lunch cooked by a masterchef, soaked in a healing hot pool and had silly and super conversations with strangers. How about you? What did you do that was delightful this week?

Grown ups forget that we need to wiggle and jiggle and make a noise. We hold stress in our bodies so we need to shuck that stress off our body! Be like a little kid.

Being creative means being willing to accept mistake making and mess and not always knowing the clear path ahead. The more we practice anything, the better we become. Whether it's cooking something new, knitting, sewing, drawing, painting, making something or writing, be open to finding connections and enjoying the process. Leave the inner critic behind and be embrace curiosity.

Therapy and mindfulness can help us become more aware of the present moment and actively identify small, positive experiences that might otherwise go unnoticed. When we appreciate little joys and moments of calm, even when facing challenges, our brain gets to focus on the positive aspects of the day.

We have to actively and mindfully seek out joy. Connect with a friend. Watch an animal do something adorable. Read something inspiring. Immerse yourself in nature. Notice beauty.

Joyful things, beautiful little things and comforting things add some lightness and playfulness into our day. Play triggers the release of endorphins, the body's natural feel-good chemicals, which is a super good stress reliever. Be sure to sprinkle delight into your day to make your heart sing.
