Please read the ONLINE Counselling Terms & Agreement below.

In your online booking processing, under Tell Us Your Details, when you tick the box Terms of Use, you are stating that you understand and AGREE to abide by our terms of service.

ONLINE Counselling Terms & Agreement
By requesting Counselling you acknowledge, have read, and agree to the terms & services agreement between yourself (the client) and myself (the Counsellor) you enter this agreement and my services at your own risk.

You agree that you understand the possible advantages and disadvantages of email support and/or Telehealth Counselling and shall not hold me legally liable for any information or insight distributed. These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of New Zealand.

Please note – ONLINE COUNSELLING IS UNSUITABLE if you’ve been diagnosed with a major psychiatric illness. It is also not suitable for those in immediate crisis. Instead,

I have selected an account with Cliniko for video communications to allow for the highest possible security and confidentiality of the content of your sessions, but you understand that using technologies can carry significant privacy risks because any internet based communication is not 100% guaranteed to be secure/confidential. I will make every reasonable effort to keep information secure, respected & confidential as stated by The Health Information Privacy Code (HIPC) 2020.

FOR COUNSELLING APPOINTMENTS

Please be ready to connect at the agreed time for sessions which are either 60, 90 or 120 minutes long depending on your booking.

Please ensure that you have a private and safe space in which to have your sessions and that you will not be disturbed whilst in session.

Unforeseen circumstances can necessitate (a client or Counsellor) cancelling or rescheduling. Please do so no later than 24 hours in advance or you will be charged for the session if I cannot fill that timeslot. Emergencies are taken into account.

No third parties will be in or near the session at any time without the counsellors knowledge. I do my best to ensure that all information is kept confidential and I ask that you do the same.

I restrict the use of any copies or recordings you make of our communications. You must seek my written permission before recording any portion of the session and/or posting any portion of said session on any/all internet websites such as Facebook, or YouTube.

As a Counsellor I operate under the NZAC code of ethics. I protect clients’ identities when information gained from counselling relationships is used for purposes such as counsellor training, supervision, research or audit. Exceptions to confidentiality occur only if there is serious danger in the immediate or foreseeable future to you, the client or others as in if the client indicates intent to do harm to her/himself or others.

If after assessing I believe you would be better served elsewhere I will inform you.

You can OPT OUT of counselling at any time, please just let me know.
